One of the many stunning beaches along the north coast, and a personal favourite is Holywell Bay.  It really offers everything. A wide sandy beach with stunning cliffs to either side and backed by golden sand dunes.

What to do there:

As with most beaches along Cornwall's north coast, the waves are perfect for surfing or body boarding..or perhaps just splashing in the water. The water is a clear beautiful blue so won't disappoint. There is a surfing hire right on the beach however at the time of writing this wasn't open due to Covid-19 situation.

The coastal trail from this beach offers stunning views on the bay and is definitely worth a visit. There is also a river that that runs into the ocean through the beach and offers sheltered areas for children to play. If you are a curious type, you can explore the caves at low tide including the Holywell Bay cave - a mysterious cave with colourful stones.

How to get there:

Navigate to Holywell Bay, there is a dedicated car park (chargeable). The drive takes around 35 minutes from Rockleigh Place. The car park is relatively small and the beach is popular so it's advisable to arrive in the morning or late afternoon to get a space.

When to visit:

You can visit any time, the car park, beach and trails are open throughout the year. Summer is great if you want to get into the water however if you have a good wetsuit you can surf any time. The water is pretty much always wavy so would be great for water sports.
