St Nectan's Glen

Cornwall is not a place I have previously associated with enchanted forests, fairies and sacred waterfalls. But having stumbled across this hidden little gem my view has certainly been changed.

St Nectans Glen offers three intriguing waterfalls, reachable by foot through a wonderful forest path. It is situated in Tantagel, near Tintagel Castle (another amazing place to visit!) so combining the two would make a wonderful day out.

You can visit St Nectan's Glen any time of the year, just be sure to check opening times on their website as they vary seasonally. If you go during low season you're bound to have the place pretty much to yourself which is amazing!

The site is actually privately owned with free public access to the forest (a small fee is payable for visiting the waterfall itself). You can just visit the main waterfall or take the forest trail to see all three waterfalls.

There is a cafe and a great gift shop on site with very friendly staff. They even provide wellies for visitors as you have to walk through the shallow stream to see the main waterfall in all its glory.

If you are traveling from Rockleigh Place, it will take around 50 minutes by car. If you are already planning  to visit Tintagel, St Nectans Glen is only another 5 minutes from there. If you are using Google to navigate it will take you to the car park, however it does show the waterfall itself in the wrong place. But not to worry, the site is well sign posted from the car park.

This place is considered sacred and definitely has a very spiritual feel about it. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
